India vs England Match Preview, 2nd T20I

India and England lock horns in the second T20I in the five-match series on Saturday, January 25, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

The Men in Blue took a 1-0 lead in the series after annihilating England in the first T20I at Eden Gardens. On a tricky surface, England batters struggled to get accustomed. After Arshdeep Singh took a couple of wickets inside the powerplay, Varun Chakaravarthy led the spin attack commendably and finished with a three-for. Jos Buttler played a gutsy knock of 68 but did not get too much support from the other end as the Three Lions were eventually dismissed for 132. 

Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson then put the English bowlers under pressure from the get-go by playing aggressively. While Sanju was dismissed after getting a start, Abhishek went on to slam a 34-ball 79 as India reached the paltry target with seven wickets and 43 balls to spare.

The England batters will have to show a lot more grit and determination to counter the in-form Indian bowling attack. Meanwhile, there is going to be very little margin for error for the England bowlers against the Indian batting lineup, which plays positive cricket from the outset.

MA Chidambaram Stadium Pitch Report

MA Chidambaram Stadium generally provides considerable assistance for the spinners and the pitches are not ideal for stroke-making. However, in recent editions of the Indian Premier League, batters have fared decently. It will be interesting to see what kind of surface greets the two teams on Saturday.
