Royal Challengers Bangalore are all set to host the Delhi Capitals in the 20th match of the Indian Premier League 2023 at their home ground- the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, on April 15, Saturday in the first game of the double header. Both teams are coming off losses from their previous games and will be eyeing for to get back to winning ways.

In their last game, the Faf du Plessis-led RCB lost against the Lucknow Super Giants on the game's final delivery. It was a close encounter between the two sides and RCB had gotten really close to clinching a victory, but goof-ups in the final over by Harshal Patel and mis-fielding by wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik led to LSG chasing the target on the final ball.

Delhi Capitals’ skipper David Warner has had miserable outings in the tournament thus far. The team has lost all four matches that they have played so far, and are placed at the bottom-most position in the points table. Their chance to make it to the playoffs keeps getting blurred, and the unavailability of Rishabh Pant has been a major disadvantage for the side since the first game.

RCB’s top-order batters are in brilliant form, as was seen in their previous game against LSG where Faf, Virat Kohli, and Glenn Maxwell took the onus of scoring runs and took the team’s total to cross the 200-run mark. But going by what has happened historically at this venue, no big total is safe and hence, the bowlers will have a big task.

Pitch and Conditions

The surface at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru benefits the batters well and they will enjoy their time on the field as the ball typically comes nicely onto the bat. As for the bowlers, both, the spinners and the pacers, might struggle to get going and will have a difficult job.

Probable Playing XI for RCB vs DC

Royal Challengers Bangalore

RCB, except for one game, have put up terrific performances in the tournament so far. They have expertise in the batting unit but have a worrisome bowling attack. The inclusion of Wanindu Hasaranga, hence, will be a major boost for them.

Probable Playing XI: Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis (c), Mahipal Lomror, Glenn Maxwell, Shahbaz Ahmed, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Anuj Rawat, Wayne Parnell, Wanindu Hasaranga, Harshal Patel, Mohammed Siraj

Delhi Capitals

Delhi Capitals’ campaign has by far been the worst at the tournament. While every other team has managed to get at least one victory, DC have lost four games and are the only team still looking for a victory. They still haven’t found the right combination and will have to work as a unit.

Probable Playing XI: Prithvi Shaw, David Warner (c), Manish Pandey, Yash Dhull, Rovman Powell, Lalit Yadav, Axar Patel, Abishek Porel (wk), Kuldeep Yadav, Anrich Nortje, Mustafizur Rahman
