IPL 2024, Qualifier 2: Rajasthan Royals vs Sunrisers Hyderabad Match Preview

Rajasthan Royals (RR) continue their ongoing IPL (Indian Premier League) 2024 campaign by taking on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in qualifier 2 of the tournament. Both sides will face off at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Friday, May 24.

Sunrisers Hyderabad finished in second place in the standings in the tournament and faced Kolkata Knight Riders in Qualifier 1 of the tournament. However, KKR registered a dominant win against SRH and became the first team to book their berth for the IPL 2024 final. SRH, on the other hand, moved down to Qualifier 2, where they will take on RR.

Sanju Samson's men finished in third place in the standings despite dominating the early stages of the tournament. The side faced Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the playoffs, where they managed to snatch the game by four wickets to spare.

It is worth noting that in the group stage clash between RR and SRH, the Pat Cummins-led side won the game by the barest of margins, and as the game approaches, RR will hope for a different outcome as they set their sights on their second IPL title.

MA Chidambaram Stadium Pitch Report and Conditions

The surface at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai has been quite balanced in IPL 2024. With much assistance being provided to the spinners, the pitch can be difficult to play on for the batters, and stroke makers. Opting to bowl first after winning the toss could be an optimal decision.
