The action will continue in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 as New Zealand take on the Netherlands in Match 06 on Monday, October 09 at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. New Zealand began their World Cup campaign on a winning note as they beat England by a massive margin of nine wickets in the opening fixture of the tournament.
The Kiwis first managed to restrict the defending champions to below par score of 282/9 and later on chased down the target in emphatic fashion in just 36.2 overs courtesy of centuries from Devon Conway (152* off 121) and Rachin Ravindra (123* off 96). On the other hand, the Netherlands had a decent performance with the ball in the first game as they bundled out Pakistan for 286.

However, they failed to fire with the bat and could only manage to score 205 with the bat. Bas de Leede shone with his all-round show vs Pakistan as he first picked 4/62 in nine overs and later scored 67 (68) with the bat. Apart from him, Vikramjit Singh also scored a half-century (52 off 67) while Colin Ackerman (2/39, 8 overs) also bowled an economical spell.
Notably, Netherlands’ first-ever World Cup match also came against New Zealand way back on February 17, 1996 in Vadodara where the Dutch went on to lose the game by 119 runs. The upcoming fixture promises to be another mouth-watering clash as both teams have enough star players who can turn the game on their day.
