Pakistan and Hong Kong will take on each other in the final group-stage match of the 2022 Asia Cup at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Both teams are coming off a loss against India in their previous encounters and a defeat here will be curtains for the losing side.  

The Men in Green managed to take the game against India as deep as possible despite the low total they had posted. Naseem Shah’s cramps added to the worries while the remaining bowlers did a good job to keep their side in the hunt. An improved batting display might just take the Pakistan side into the super four stages.  

On the other hand, Hong Kong won a lot of hearts despite losing the game against India. Babar Hayat was a big positive in the batting arena while Ehsan Khan yet again nailed his yorkers. There was not a lot they could have done against a team like India. However, they would still be looking to keep their spirits up against Pakistan.  

Pitch Conditions 

The track at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium offered a bit of spin in the previous game and it wasn’t easy an easy wicket to post big totals despite the short boundaries. The skipper winning the toss will be looking to bowl first on the wicket and have a glance at the conditions while pacing their run chase.

Pakistan  

Pakistan’s batting order is expected to remain the same with Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan opening the innings. The middle order could not leave much impact in the previous game while there were cramps issues with Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf against India. Mohammad Hasnain could get a look in for the game if Naseem Shah doesn’t recover in time.

The lower middle order showed good spirit in the final overs while Haroon Arshad will be looking to come back strong after a dismal show. Ayush Shukla and Ehsan Khan were quite impressive in the previous game against India.
