Sri Lanka is set to take on Afghanistan in Match 7 of the Asia Cup 2022 Super 4 clash at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. The Island nation are coming off a stunning victory against Bangladesh in their last game and they will be riding high on confidence.

Kusal Mendis stepped up with the bat for Sri Lanka, however, there were a lot of cheap dismissals which will be a worry for the team coming into this game. Asitha Fernando conceded 51 on his debut game, however, Sri Lanka will be looking to perist with the pacer who played a heroic cameo under pressure. 

On the other hand, Afghanistan have quality spinners and they will fancy their chances against the Sri Lankan batting lineup that has shown some vulnerability. Fazalhaq Farooqi bowled a brilliant new-ball spell against Sri Lanka in the previous meeting and he will be a major threat for the Sri Lankan top order. The Mohammad Nabi-led side have both their games in the group fixtures comfortably and their aggressive approach has reaped rewards so far.
