Netherlands will take on Nepal in the seventh game of the T20 World Cup 2024 in Dallas, on June 4.

Despite finishing at the bottom of the table in the ODI World Cup 2023, the Netherlands looked impressive in the tournament and they would hope to build on that in the T20 World Cup. They are slated to face Nepal in their opening game of the campaign on June 4 at Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas. Ahead of that, the Scott Edwards-led side defeated Sri Lanka in the warm-up game, which would give the team a lot of confidence.

Nepal, meanwhile, are a very passionate team and would look to cause an upset in the ongoing tournament. They, however, had a rough time in the warm-up matches, as the Rohit Paudel-led side lost to Canada by 63 runs, while their match against USA was called off due to rain. A month prior, they played a five-match series against West Indies A, when they managed to win a couple of games. But to make a mark on the global stage, the team needs to produce better performances.

They will miss Sandeep Lamichhane in the tournament, as the star spinner hasn’t been granted a visa. He played franchise cricket across the globe and could have been an asset to the team. In his absence, Sagar Dhakal is expected to lead the spin department.

Netherlands, meanwhile, have multiple match-winners. Opener Michael Levitt hit a brilliant half-century against Sri Lanka in the practice match, while skipper Edwards played an important cameo in the backend. Aryan Dutt will be extremely vital for them in the spinning conditions while Paul van Meekeren and Bas de Leede can be very effective.
