Tri-Nation ODI Series 2025: India Women vs South Africa Women, Match 2 Preview
India beat Sri Lanka Women in the opening game of the series.
After a comprehensive victory in the series opener against hosts Sri Lanka, India Women will now challenge South Africa Women in the Match 2 of the Tri-Nation ODI Series 2025 at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Tuesday, April 29. This will be the first game for the Proteas in the series, and they would be hoping to get off the mark with a win, whereas the Indians would be looking forward to building a winning streak.
The visiting side was able to restrict Sri Lanka Women to a paltry total in the first game of the series on Sunday, and chased down the target with nine wickets and a little less than 10 overs to spare in the rain-curtailed fixture at the same venue, as they commenced with a couple of points. When they take on the Laura Wolvaardt-led side on Tuesday, they will be hoping to replicate something similar.
South Africa, on the other hand, are yet to play a game in the series, but haven't been in great form in the 50-over format of late. In their last ODI series, they lost 2-1 to England at home. However, a new series would bring in new opportunities, and they would be trying to turn the tables while squaring off against a high-on-confidence Women in Blue set-up.

R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo Pitch Report
Due to overcast conditions in the Sri Lankan capital, the pitch conditions are likely to be moist, and scoring runs may not be easy as the game progresses. Any score above 250 in the encounter would be considered competitive enough to be defended. The captain winning the toss should opt to bat first, however, if chances of precipitation are higher, it would be wiser to bowl first to know the DLS (Duckworth-Lewis-Stern) target better.
