Both the teams suffered a loss in their respective first game.

Sri Lanka Women (SL-W) and South Africa Women (SA-W) will clash in Match 3 of the Tri-Nation ODI Series 2025 at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Friday, May 2. Both the teams come into this game after suffering a loss each against India Women (IND-W) in their respective opener.
Sri Lanka could not get going in their first match. Rain delayed the start of the match by two hours and the match was curtailed to 39 overs per side. IND-W put them in to bat to utilise the damp conditions and they did so, at least in restricting the home team from scoring at a high rate to begin with. Opener Hasini Perera and Kavisha Dilhari headlined the batting efforts. Chasing 148, IND-W started off well and the SL-W bowlers proved ineffective almost through the entire match.
South Africa battled hard against the Indians. Despite the IND-W scoring a highly competitive 276 almost all the SA-W bowlers performed well considering the pitch conditions. Opener Tazmin Brits scored a magnificent hundred in tough weather conditions and almost led the team over the line. Alas, they fell short by 15 runs.
Both the teams will try to score two points in this match, thereby giving themselves a good chance to qualify for the final. A loss will mean an uphill task on that front. The advantage for SL-W is home conditions while SA-W's good form might make this contest a competitive one.

R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo Pitch Report
The conditions are expected to favour batters in the first innings with spinners playing an important role too. The pitch might slow down as the game goes on and the slower bowlers will find it easy to contain the run flow. However, weather conditions on the day can play a big role and might change the original nature of the pitch if it rains a lot.
