New Zealand (NZ-W) will square off against West Indies (WI-W) in Semi-final 2 of the Women's T20 World Cup 2024, at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, in Sharjah, on Friday, October 18. West Indies came back strongly out of nowhere when they lost their first game against South Africa by 10 wickets. They won three consecutive games and topped Group B win three wins in four games.
On the other hand, New Zealand had a lone hiccup in their journey in Group A. They lost their second game to Australia by 60 runs and looked effortless in every other game. They occupied the second position in Group A and will look to surpass the West Indies hurdle to reach their third final. They reached consecutive finals in 2009 and 2010 as they lost to England and Australia, respectively.

Probable Predicted XI
New Zealand Women
New Zealand Women rely heavily on their bowlers and the likes of Amelia Kerr and Eden Carson are among the wickets, the team will hope for them to continue their golden run. On the other hand, their middle looked off-colour in the previous game and they will address the issue going into the semi-finals.
Predicted XI: Suzie Bates, Georgia Plimmer, Amelia Kerr, Sophie Devine (c), Brooke Halliday, Maddy Green, Isabella Gaze (wk), Rosemary Mair, Lea Tahuhu, Eden Carson, Fran Jonas.
West Indies Women
West Indies Women's opening pair have joined the party. Hayley Matthews and Qiana Joseph notched up a 102-run stand for the first wicket in their last game. Matthews used eight bowlers in the previous encounter and that’s something New Zealand might have taken notice of while preparing for the knockout stage.
Predicted XI: Hayley Matthews (c), Qiana Joseph, Shemaine Campbelle (wk), Deandra Dottin, Chinelle Henry, Chedean Nation, Zaida James, Ashmini Munisar, Aaliyah Alleyne, Afy Fletcher, Karishma Ramharack.
