India B took on India C in Match 4 of the Duleep Trophy 2024 at the Rural Development Trust Stadium B in Anantapur. On Day 3, India C managed to post a humongous target of 525 runs after they were asked to bat first. India B lost early wickets in their response, but skipper Abhimanyu Easwaran held on to the other end.

Easwaran and Narayanan Jagadeesan put up 129 runs for the first wicket and the team lost five wickets in a span of 65 runs. Jagadeesan departed after scoring 70 runs while Easwaran remained unbeaten on 143 off 262 deliveries laced with 12 boundaries and one maximum. Apart from the duo, the other five batters contributed only 59 runs, and India B ended their Day on 309 for 7 and are trailing by 216 runs.

Kamboj continues his merry way

Anshul Kamboj ripped apart the top and middle order of the India B as the pacer five out of seven wickets. He picked the crucial wickets of N Jagadeesaan, Musheer Khan, Sarfaraz Khan, Rinku Singh and Nitish Reddy.  He ended the day with figures of five for 66. Vijaykumar Vyshak and Mayank Markande chipped in with one wicket each. Both picked the wickets of Washington Sundar and R Sai Kishore respectively.

Earlier, Ishan Kishan sparkled with 111 off 126 and was supported by half-centuries from Ruturaj Gaikwad, Indrajith, and Manav Suthar, and India C posted 525. For India B Rahul Chahar and Mukesh Kumar managed to pluck four wickets each.

India D in pursuit of daunting chase

A few meters away at the Rural Development Trust Stadium, India A squared off on Day 3 with India D, as the latter face a huge task ahead of them. At Stumps on Day 3, India D have lost a wicket as the scoreboard reads 62/1 after 19 overs of the fourth innings.

However, the Shreyas Iyer-led side still requires 426 more runs to win the contest against Mayank Agarwal & Co.
