Karachi Kings produced one of their most memorable comebacks in PSL history, chasing down a huge 235 to beat Multan Sultans by four wickets in Match No. 3 of the Pakistan Super League 2025. The match, held at the National Stadium in Karachi on Saturday, turned out to be a run-fest that saw two brilliant centuries and a total of 470 runs scored.

Sultans, put in to bat first, looked in a great position to win after captain Mohammad Rizwan’s clinical unbeaten 105 off 63 balls anchored their innings. Rizwan was supported by Kamran Ghulam (36 off 19) and an unbeaten 44 off just 17 balls by Michael Bracewell in the later stages of the innings. Despite conceding 22 extras, Karachi bowlers kept the total to 234/3. Hasan Ali, Abbas Afridi, and Khushdil Shah picked one wicket, respectively.

In reply, Karachi’s innings began with David Warner's questionable LBW decision, and the middle-order collapsed quickly. At 79 for 4 in the seventh over, the Kings were in a tough position, needing something extraordinary. James Vince and Khushdil were the only saving hope for the side. Vince brought up his fifty in 23 balls and eventually scored 101 off 43 balls, lacing his innings with 14 fours and four sixes. Khushdil also contributed with 60 off 37 deliveries.

The duo stitched together a 142-run partnership that not only rescued Karachi but put them in a winning spot, which once looked impossible. Despite wickets falling, including Vince being run out and Khushdil bowled by Akif Javed, the Kings were very close to reaching the target. Irfan Khan and Abbas Afridi held their nerve to finish the chase with four balls to spare. Vince earned the Player of the Match award as Kings secured the third-highest successful chase in PSL history.
