Ranji Trophy 2024-25: Round 5 Review

With the conclusion of the fifth round of the ongoing season of the Ranji Trophy, the first phase of the tournament too came to an end. Now, the Indian domestic circuit will move on to Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2024 as the teams will battle in the 20-over format.

In the Round 5, none of the matches in the Elite Group A were drawn, as Baroda continued their assault in the tournament with an innings and 261 runs win over Meghalaya. Mumbai, too, won by four wickets against Services at the match played in Delhi. In the Group C, Bengal won a thriller against Madhya Pradesh, as Shahbaz Ahmed and Mohammed Shami stood out for the visiting sides.

In the Plate League, only Goa managed to bag a win, while Manipur and Nagaland bagged points through a first innings' lead in their respective matches.
