On Friday, December 20, Litton Das-led Bangladesh defeated West Indies by 80 runs in the third and final T20I of the series, played at the Arnos Vale Ground, in Kingstown. This victory helped the side clinch a historic 3-0 series whitewash, making it the first time Bangladesh has swept the West Indies in T20Is in 20 years.
The backbone of Bangladesh’s batting was Jaker Ali, who played an unbeaten knock of 72* off 41 balls. His innings included three boundaries and six sixes, helping the visitors to a total of 189/7 making it their highest T20I score on West Indies soil. Jaker who was initially adjudged ran out due to a mix-up but was called back by the third umpire.
Returning to the crease he dismantled the West Indies bowlers, especially in the death overs, where Alzarri Joseph conceded 25 runs in the final over. Parvez Hossain Emon also contributed significantly at the top of the order with a quickfire 39 off 21 balls. His approach ensured a solid powerplay score of 54 runs.

West Indies got folded for their lowest total against Bangladesh
Defending 190, Bangladesh’s bowlers bundled out the hosts for just 109 in 16.4 overs. Rishad Hossain was the star with the ball, picking 3 wickets for 21 runs. His wickets included the skipper Rovman Powell and Gudakesh Motie.

Taskin Ahmed and Mahedi Hasan also chipped in with two wickets each, while Hasan Mahmud and Tanzim Hasan Sakib added one apiece. West Indies batting lineup collapsed yet again, failing to cross 140 in any of the three matches. Romario Shepherd’s 33 off 27 balls was the only form of hope for the side. Notably, 109 was also the lowest total made by West Indies against Bangladesh in their T20I history. Besides, the Bangla Tigers completed their first-ever clean sweep over the hosts in the T20I series.
