The 14th encounter of the 2024 Women's Premier League unfolded at Delhi's Arun Jaitley Stadium, featuring a face-off between UP Warriorz and Mumbai Indians. In a display of relentless prowess, the reigning champions, Mumbai Indians, secured a commanding victory, triumphing over the Warriorz by a substantial 42-run margin and solidifying their standing in the points table.

After opting to bat first, Mumbai's innings kicked off on a shaky note as openers Yastika Bhatia and Hayley Matthews succumbed early, departing within four overs with a mere 17 runs on the scoreboard. However, a commendable partnership between Nat Sciver-Brunt and skipper Harmanpreet Kaur provided stability, contributing 45 and 33 runs off 31 and 30 balls, respectively.

The star all-rounder, Amelia Kerr continued her good form in the event and played an impactful innings, scoring 39 runs in just 23 balls adorned with six boundaries and helped Mumbai Indians' innings, reaching a respectable total of 160. Chamari Athapaththu was the standout bowler for UP, claiming two crucial wickets.

Shabnim Ismail sets the tone with her fiery spell in the chase

In pursuit of the target, UP's batting lineup appeared disoriented, struggling against Shabnim Ismail's opening spell, where she conceded only six runs and took a wicket in her four-over stint. The UP batters failed to find their rhythm, with only three managing to reach double figures, illustrating their collective struggle.
