After securing a five-wicket victory over arch rivals Pakistan in their opening fixture of Asia Cup 2022, team Indian squad now faces Hong Kong in Match 4 of the competition on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai. This will be the first time the Men in Blue will be playing against Hong Kong in the T20 format. Having almost sealed their place in the next round, Super 4, a win will guarantee it with two wins out of two.
Speaking more about the blockbuster clash with Pakistan, Hardik Pandya’s all-round skills and pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s solid spell were enough in defeating the Men in Green. The former took three wickets for 25 runs while veteran Bhuvneshwar delivered the best spell of 4/26 by an Indian against Pakistan in T20 internationals. Chasing 148 for victory, Ravindra Jadeja’s contribution was also equally important as Hardik’s.
Jadeja smashed 35 off 29 with two fours and as many maximums while Pandya remained unbeaten on 33 off 17 which included four fours and a six to guide India to a valuable win over their arch-rivals. Rohit Sharma and his men will look to continue their form against a relatively weaker opposition. On the other hand, Hong Kong, who won the qualifying round and entered the tournament’s main draw, will be hoping to perform well against a strong and dangerous-looking Team India.
