After dismantling Hong Kong and defeating rivals India, Babar Azam-led Pakistan side now face Afghanistan in Match 4 of the Super 4 round in the Asia Cup 2022 on Wednesday, September 07, 2022, at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah. Afghanistan sealed victories in the first two encounters while they suffered a defeat in the last match against Sri Lanka. On the other hand, Pakistan started its campaign with a loss and has now won two successive games.

Speaking about Pakistan’s form in the ongoing tournament, Mohammad Rizwan has continued his scintillating T20 form and is currently the highest run-getter of this Asia Cup with 192 runs to his name at a stellar average of 96.00 with two half-centuries. All-rounder Mohammad Nawaz is joint-top with Mujeeb Ur Rahman for picking up seven scalps so far. The Men in Green will be worried about their skipper Babar’s form who has managed to score just 33 runs in three outings.

Afghanistan’s destructive wicketkeeper batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz has scored 135 runs in the competition as he has looked in great touch opening the innings for his side. With one loss already in the Super 4 round and having never won the Asia Cup title, Mohammad Nabi and his team will look to snatch a victory here as their last match is against the tournament favorites India. A win here for Pakistan would almost secure their place for the summit clash.

Meanwhile, here are some of the important stats and numbers ahead of Match 4 in Super 4 between Pakistan and Afghanistan in the Asia Cup 2022:
