Babar Azam becomes the player with most runs after playing 100 ODIs
Azam now has 5089 runs with a stunning average of 59.17 and 18 tons to his name after the milestone 100th ODI.
Pakistan went on to lose the final ODI of the five-match ODI series against New Zealand and clinched the series 4-1. Talking about the stats and milestones around the match, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam went to register a brilliant stat on his name after playing his 100th ODI game during the same match. Though Azam failed to get going in his 100th ODI game with just one run in the game, he now has the most runs to his name after playing 100 ODIs.
Azam now has 5089 runs with a stunning average of 59.17 and 18 tons to his name after the milestone 100th ODI. The second name on the list happens to be Hashim Amla who had 4808 runs after 100 ODI games and he is followed by India’s Shikhar Dhawan on the list with 4309 runs. The fourth name happens to be David Warner with 4217 runs after the same ODIs and the fifth name on the list is Shai Hope with 4193 runs.
Azam played his 100th ODI against New Zealand where the home side lost the game by 47 runs. However, owing to Azam’s stunning record in the format, he went on to achieve a brilliant milestone after 100 ODI games.
“It was a brilliant series, but didn't finish it the way we wanted. We didn't do well with the bat at the top and Agha and Iftikhar got a good partnership but we left too many runs for them. We always have to be prepared to perform irrespective of the conditions. Needed to play better cricket today.”
“Overall, it was a good series for the team and our bowlers did well throughout. We wanted to check the bench strength and there were a lot of positives to take from this series. We chased 300-plus and also defended under 300, so it was a good series for us,” said Azam after Pakistan lost the final ODI.
