The second Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 ended in defeat for the Indian team. After just two days and one session of play, it was Australia who emerged victorious, registering a 10-wicket win against Rohit Sharma’s men. It is worth noting that India was bundled out for 180 runs in the first innings.
In response, Australia posted a total of 337 runs, and then once again limited India to a score of 175, giving themselves a target of 19 runs to chase down. In doing so, the Adelaide clash made its way into the history books as it became the shortest ever Test between Australia and India in terms of balls bowled.
It is worth noting that a total of 1031 balls were bowled during the Adelaide clash, which makes it the shortest Test. India and Australia’s clash in Indore in 2023 occupies second place with 1135 balls bowled, with third place belonging to the Perth game in 2012, where only 1200 balls were bowled.

India look for redemption in third Test
The second Test of the ongoing BGT 2024-25 was a forgettable one for the Indian team. After Australia registered a comfortable 10-wicket win, the series now sits at levelled terms. It is worth noting that India managed to win comfortably in Perth, but failed to do so in Adelaide.
However, with the series level, both Australia and India will now lock horns in the third Test. Both sides will face off in the third Test in Brisbane from December 14 and with one game played each, both teams will have a good idea about each other’s squads and style of play. With the final spot in the WTC still on the line, team India will hope for an improved showing.
