Afghanistan, playing their first-ever Champions Trophy, went down emphatically to South Africa in their last game. The Proteas rode on a century from Ryan Rickelton and fifties from three other batters to post an intimidating 315. Afghanistan were simply never in the chase as South Africa struck at regular intervals to kill the chase early, and make sure that Rahmat Shah's 90 went in vain. 

England's performance in the last match 

England, on the other hand, went down to Australia in a record-breaking match. Ben Duckett's record breaking 165 led England to 351 - what at the time was the highest team total in the Champions Trophy. Australia lost two early wickets, but Matthew Short and Alex Carey kept the chase calm and alive with fifties, but the day belonged to Josh Inglis, who equalled the record for the fastest century in Champions Trophy to lead Australia to a record-breaking chase to get their campaign off in style.
