Champions Trophy 2025: England vs South Africa, Match 11: Stats Review of player records and achieved milestones

The match no. 11 of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 took place at National Stadium, Karachi where England (ENG) faced South Africa (SA). After winning the toss, England skipper Jos Buttler opted to bat first.

The Three Lions had a shaky start in the powerplay, losing three crucial wickets early. Phil Salt (8), Ben Duckett (24), and Jamie Smith (0) fell cheaply, with Marco Jansen wreaking havoc on the top order, claiming three wickets.

The English side's struggles continued beyond the powerplay, as none of their batters managed to reach a half-century. Wiaan Mulder further dented their innings by picking up three key wickets. As a result, England were bowled out for a modest 179/10.

In response, Proteas' chase got off to a wobbly start, losing Tristan Stubbs for a duck. However, Rassie van der Dussen took charge, delivering a stellar unbeaten knock of 72 runs, steering his team to a convincing victory. The Rainbow Nation comfortably chased down the target in just 29.1 overs, securing a dominant win and booking their spot in the semi-finals of the Champions Trophy 2025.

Speaking of the semi-finals, South Africa became the second team to qualify from Group B, after Australia qualified following a rain-affected game on Friday. Both the teams will face India and New Zealand in the semis, but the opponents will be determined based on standings after the last league stage game of the tournament on Sunday, March 02.
