Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Mumbai Indians (MI) will fly to Chennai, as they both face each other for the second time in a winner-take-all contest, the Eliminator of Indian Premier League 2023 at MA Chidambaram Stadium on Wednesday, May 24.

Mumbai Indians will be coming into the contest on the back of Cameron Green’s masterclass on the path to playoffs against pity SRH in their last game. Cameron Green, who was bought for a whooping sum of 17.50 Cr, proved to be a vital cog in MI’s progress in a do-or-die clash, smashing the fastest century of IPL 2023.

Lucknow Super Giants, on the other hand, will be heading into the game after a narrow win against KKR in their previous game courtesy of sublime batting from Nicholas Pooran. Both these teams will play in the eliminator, where the winner will keep one foot ahead while the losing side will bow out of the coveted league.

For MI, Suryakumar Yadav has been the go-to batter, as he has so far aggregated 511 runs in 14 games at an average of 42.58 while Ishan Kishan has contributed 439 runs at an average of 31.36 in 14 games. Cameron Green has scored 381 runs at a stupendous average of 54.52.

In the bowling department, Piyush Chawla holds the key with 20 wickets while the Australian pacer, Jason Behrendorff, has picked 14 wickets. MI would look to register their first win over LSG in IPL.

For LSG, Marcus Stoinis has piled up the most runs, he has scored 368 runs in 14 games at an average of 30.66, while Kyle Mayers has scored 361 runs in 12 innings. Nicholas Pooran is next on the list with 358 runs at a blistering strike rate of 173.78.

In the bowling department, Ravi Bishnoi holds the key with 16 wickets, while Mark Wood and Yash Thakur have managed to pick 11 and 10 wickets, respectively. LSG would look to continue their dominance over MI.
