After 13 days and 15 matches, the coveted Indian Premier League 2024 will return to the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad, in what will be the fourth match at the home stadium of the Gujarat Titans (GT), where they will be hosting the ninth-placed, Delhi Capitals (DC)

At the last match held at this stadium, Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma stole victory from the jaws of defeat for Punjab Kings (PBKS) against Gujarat Titans after being reduced to 70/4 in a chase of 199. Besides, Gujarat Titans pulled off a similar heist in their last game which was against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Jaipur, chasing 196 off the last ball of the innings after needing 45 runs from the last three overs.

Delhi Capitals' last match also ended in a successful chase for them against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at Lucknow where they broke LSG's 13-match streak of successfully defending totals in excess of 160. Despite that result Delhi Capitals only find themselves at ninth place in the points table after having won two of their six matches so far.

Narendra Modi Stadium Pitch Report-

Only three matches have been held at this stadium so far this season. And these three matches have produced first innings totals of 168,162 and 199. So it is difficult to predict how the surface will behave especially since no matches have been held here in the last 13 days. The general pattern of a slightly high first innings score with help from the team batting second because of the dew is the safest bet with the lack of information so far.

GT vs DC Strategies and Match-ups-

Chasing is easier at this stadium and both teams have seen success chasing totals this season. While GT had to play out of their skins to chase the 197 that RR set them, Shubman Gill seemed to indicate that GT should not be counted out while chasing any total. DC's bowling seemed to be horribly out of form but found some semblance back, which made life different for them against LSG.

DC's batting has also found some firepower in recent matches, so they will be confident in their ability to chase down totals. The important matchups for this contest are- Rishabh Pant versus Rashid Khan, Mohit Sharma versus Jake Fraser-McGurk, and Umesh Yadav versus David Warner, to name a few thrilling battles.

Player Battles to Watch Out For-

X-Factors for GT vs DC-

Gujarat Titans-

Rashid Khan was the Player of the Match when Gujarat chased 197 off the last ball against Rajasthan Royals for a compelling performance with both bat and ball. His services will be required once again if Gujarat are to keep up a winning streak.

Delhi Capitals-

Kuldeep Yadav's newfound form with the ball resulted in a Player of the Match award in the last match. On an Ahmedabad pitch that could turn slow, he will once again be the most potent weapon in the Capitals' arsenal.
