The defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) will play against the two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in match number 13 of the Indian Premier League 2023 on April 9, 2023, at the famous Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Gujarat Titans are coming into this game after winning two games on the trot. They are second on the points table with a healthy net run rate (NRR) of +0.700. All round performances in both departments have helped their case so far.

Sai Sudharsan has been a stand-out performer with the bat, he came in as the Impact Player in the first game and was involved in a 53-run stand with Gill in a crunch situation and in the second game he registered his second IPL fifty to help Gujarat beat Delhi by a six-wicket margin.

In the bowling department, Rashid Khan has been phenomenal as he has picked up five wickets in two games at an economy rate of 7.12. Gujarat have signed Dasun Shanaka as a replacement for the injured Kane Williamson. With the addition of Shanaka Gujarat look more solid and balanced as he provides strength to the middle order along with David Miller and is also capable of bowling a few overs irrespective of the situation.

Kolkata Knight Riders, come into the contest with a win and a loss apiece in the two games they have played. They lost the first game by 7 runs by the DLS method and in the second game, Shardul Thakur and Rinku Singh toyed with the RCB bowlers as they registered a record sixth-wicket partnership of 103 runs.

Spin bowlers then came into the act, with classical off-breaks and googlies to clean up the batters, eventually winning them the game by 81 runs margin. Suyash Sharma was impressive on his debut, picking up three wickets for 30 runs in his four overs spell.

KKR have roped in Jason Roy as a replacement for Shakib Al Hasan who opted out due to personal reasons. KKR's batting will look better in the presence of Jason Roy in the top order. They would look to carry the winning momentum going into the next game.
