ILT20 2025: ADKR vs DV, Match 9 - Stats preview of players' records and approaching milestones
The table toppers' clash is expected to be an enthralling encounter in the upcoming match 9 of the ILT20.
Table toppers Desert Vipers (DV) will take on the second-placed Abu Dhabi Knight Riders (ADKR) in Match 9 of the ongoing ILT20 2025 (International League T20). Vipers have made it to the top of the table by winning all three of their matches, while the Knight Riders bounced back from a trouncing in the first game and won their second match comprehensively.
Desert Vipers made short work of Gulf Giants to register three wins in three matches in their previous game. Giants Skipper James Vince held the fort with an unbeaten 76, but an inspired bowling performance from the Vipers kept them to just 119. It looked like DV had lost control of the game at 66/4. but crucial cameos of Sam Curran (28 off 23 balls) and a final flourish from Sherfane Rutherford (21 off 8 balls), sealed the victory for the side.
Most of ADKR's batters got starts in their game against Sharjah Warriorz, but it was Andre Russell whose lusty blows took the Knight Riders to a semblance of a respectable total. David Willey then wrecked the Warriorz by taking two wickets in the powerplay and all the other bowlers chipped in to keep taking regular wickets to never let the Warriorz settle in. The story of the innings can be summed up by the fact that the highest partnership of the innings was the one for the last wicket.
Moving on, DV will want to keep their unbeaten run going while ADKR will look to gain more momentum by winning two matches in a row.
