India and England will play the final ODI of their series, and the final ODI for both teams before the Champions Trophy, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, February 12.
In the second ODI in Cuttack, India sealed the series win in a rather comprehensive manner. The second ODI followed a pattern similar to the first. England got off to a flying start in the first 10 overs, but India's spinners took control in the middle overs to completely tie the visitors down. To their credit, England managed a stronger finish in Cuttack than in the first ODI at Nagpur.
England's bowlers though, looked as lost at sea as they had in the first ODI at Nagpur. Rohit Sharma showed that he was not yet done with an aggressive century that toyed with the English bowlers and made a joke of the target of 305. By the time Rohit was dismissed, the result was a formality and the middle order built on his good work to give India the series win.
This series was the first time that any ODIs were being played in India since the ODI World Cup in 2023. This holds significance as the third ODI will be the first time that the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will host an ODI since that fateful night of 19 November, 2023 when Australia won their sixth ODI World Cup title and left all of India crestfallen.

The presence of dew makes chasing easier at this ground. And historically, the pitch remains slow and low in the first innings so the team which bats first might be in for a tough time.
