In the third Test of the five-match series between India (IND) and England (ENG) at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot, the hosts emerged victorious by a big margin of 434 runs. This victory handed India a crucial 2-1 lead in the series, setting the stage for an eagerly anticipated fourth match scheduled for Friday, February 23.

Rohit Sharma's responsible century, alongside a crucial partnership with Ravindra Jadeja, laid the foundation for India's success. Jadeja himself hammered a century followed by a five-wicket haul, earning him the well-deserved Player of the Match Award.

Yashasvi Jaiswal's double hundred in the second innings played a pivotal role in India's record-breaking win, the largest margin of victory in terms of runs for the team. With Jasprit Bumrah likely to be rested due to workload management, Akash Deep could earn his maiden Test call-up. The experienced KL Rahul may also return to the team, depending on his fitness.

For England, Ben Duckett's 153 was a lone bright spot. However, their middle-order remains a cause for concern. In the last match, they were bowled out for 224 and 319, with significant collapses in both innings. While their opening partnership has averaged a healthy 52.16 over six innings, the middle order has only managed 451 runs in 18 innings with an average of 25.05, indicating a worrying inconsistency.

Senior players like Joe Root and Ben Stokes will need to play responsibly to guide the team to victory and level the series. James Anderson might miss the next match, but could hand a chance to Shoaib Bashir or Ollie Robinson to step in and Impress. The fourth Test at JSCA International Stadium Complex will mark the first Test encounter between India and England in Ranchi.
