Star Indian all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja, scripted history in the annals of Indian cricket after his splendid outing with the ball against England in the first ODI of the series at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur. He was the most-economical bowler for the Indian side, ending with a three-wicket haul in the nine overs he bowled.
It was Jadeja's third dismissal of the day which paved the way for his inclusion in a revered list. The fourth delivery of the 47th over brought about the end of Adil Rashid. With this wicket, Jadeja marked his 600th dismissal in international cricket. Ahead of the game, Jadeja was at par with former left-arm seamer, Zaheer Khan, with respect to the number of international dismissals. While Zaheer achieved his tally in 373 innings, Jadeja brought up his 600th dismissal while bowling in his 411th outing with the ball.
Speaking of Indian cricket, bowlers ahead of him with respect to dismissals in international cricket are Kapil Dev (687), Harbhajan Singh (707), Ravichandran Ashwin (765), and Anil Kumble (953). Speaking of active Indian cricketers, those behind Jadeja are Mohammed Shami (452), Jasprit Bumrah (443), and Ishant Sharma (434). Hence, the chances are greater for Jadeja going past Kapil's record than Shami or Bumrah overhauling his count.

Before Rashid, Jadeja got rid of Joe Root and then Jacob Bethell. Both of them were trapped in front of the stumps. The ace left-armer conceded only one boundary in his spell. The second-highest number of boundaries was conceded by Axar Patel (3).
India bundled England out for 248 in 47.4 overs. Other than Jadeja, ODI debutant, Harshit Rana, ended up with a three-wicket haul to his name. Rana ended up conceding 53 in his seven overs, including his third going for 26.
