The third Test of the ongoing series between Australia and India will be played at the iconic Gabba in Brisbane. India would desperately want to turn up afresh and give it their all after being comprehensively defeated by the hosts in the pink-ball Test in Adelaide. The venue holds quite fond memories for the visitors. The fortress was breached the last time India played a red-ball game in 2021, which saw Australia's 32-year unbeaten streak at the stadium being brought to a dramatic end.

The Indian team has played seven Tests at The Gabba up until now. Their victory courtesy of a special run-chase during the previous edition of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy was their first one, where Rishabh Pant's unbeaten 89 got them over the line.

Before moving onto the specifics as far as India's statistics on a holistic and player-by-player and rolewise basis is discussed, it is worth shedding light on Australia's track record in the longest format of the game in Brisbane. In the past 93 years, Australia have won 43 of the 68 Tests played at The Gabba.
