India vs Australia, 2nd T20I Stats Preview: Players records and approaching milestones
Rohit Sharma needs one more maximum to become the batter with most sixes in T20I history
Cameron Green and Matthew Wade’s stunning assault were enough for Aaron Finch-led Australian side to snatch a four-wicket victory against India in the opening encounter of the series in Mohali. The action now moves to the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur which is set to host the second T20I on Friday, September 23rd, 2022. After a disappointing result, Rohit Sharma’s team India will look to bounce back in a do-or-die match to keep the series alive.
Speaking more of the first match, India’s death bowling issues were raised again as Harshal Patel and Bhuvneshwar Kumar went for plenty at the end to hand a victory to the visitors. Batting first, the hosts put on a commanding total of 208/6 courtesy of half-centuries from KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya. Notably, Hardik also went on to register his career-best score of 71* in T20Is. Suryakumar Yadav also stretched his great form in the format by scoring a 25-ball 46.
As mentioned above, Green, who opened the innings with skipper Finch went berserk right from the start. He muscled eight fours and four maximums on his way to a 30-ball 61. Wade, who haunted Pakistan last year in the T20 World Cup semi-final, repeated his heroics against the Indians with his knock of 45* off 21 to finish the chase with four balls to spare. With the series on the line, India would look to bring back speedster Jasprit Bumrah in place of Umesh Yadav and level the series before moving on to Hyderabad for the decider.
