India (IND) and England (ENG) will clash in a five-match Test series, starting on Thursday, January 25th at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The series kicks off in Hyderabad, before heading to Visakhapatnam, Rajkot, Ranchi and concluding in Dharamsala. Notably, this will be the first encounter between the two teams at the Hyderabad venue. This series marks the 17th encounter at home for India, where they have performed slightly better, winning eight of the 16 series compared to England's five.

In the World Test Championship 2023-25, India currently hold the second position after Australia. With four matches played, India have secured two wins, suffered one loss, and managed a draw. The team will aim to maintain its standing by clinching victory in the upcoming series. Meanwhile, England sit in the seventh position on the points table, having won two out of five matches and lost two, with one match ending in a draw. England are eager to secure a win and improve its position in the rankings.

The upcoming India-England Test series will witness both teams dealing with key absences. Virat Kohli will be absent for the first two Tests for India, and England will be without Harry Brook. The squads will see the inclusion of newcomers Dhruv Jurel for India, and Shoaib Bashir, Tom Hartley and Gus Atkinson for England.
