DC finally registered a win after suffering two consecutive losses, while LSG's run of winning three in a row has come to an end.
Lucknow Super Giants succumbed to a six-wicket loss to the Delhi Capitals in Lucknow in match No. 26 of IPL 2024.
LSG won the toss and batted first. Skipper KL Rahul (39 off 22) came all guns blazing from the get-go. LSG had managed 57/2 in the powerplay, but Player of the Match Kuldeep Yadav (3 for 20) applied the brakes in the middle overs to have LSG reeling at 94/7 at the end of 13 overs. From there, it was Ayush Badoni (55* of 35) and Arshad Khan who pushed LSG beyond what has been a talismanic score of 160 for them, finishing at 167/7.
David Warner struggled in the chase, but Prithvi Shaw (32 off 22) ensured that the match always remained within reach. In the middle overs, it was debutant Jake Fraser-McGurk (55 off 35) and skipper Rishabh Pant (41 off 24) that formally made sure the Capitals had a firm grip over proceedings that enabled them to walk away with a win.
