In what will be the second match for both the teams after the blockbuster opening weekend, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will host Punjab Kingas at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in the sixth match of the IPL 2024.
RCB lost the season opener to Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium by six wickets. After a slow start, Anuj Rawat and Dinesh Karthik managed to pull RCB back, but the total of 173 was never out of CSK's reach after the start provided by Rachin Ravindra and Ajinkya Rahane.
Punjab Kings played their first match in match 2 of this season at a new venue in Mullanpur against DC. PBKS were in control of the entire match and cruised to an easy win.
These two teams last faced each other in Match 27 of IPL 2023 where RCB won by 24 runs thanks to Mohammed Siraj. With contrasting fortunes in the opening match, both teams will be looking to get their season on track with a win.
M. Chinnaswamy Stadium Pitch Report
The M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru is infamous for its very flat nature. It is likely to stay flat for the game on Monday too. Although the recently concluded WPL didn't see many ridiculously high scores, it has been 20 days since the last WPL game in Bengaluru. All-in-all, the Bengaluru pitch will mostly be flat and a high run-scoring affair can be expected.

X-Factor for RCB vs PBKS:
Royal Challengers Bengaluru:
Cameron Green's abilities to play spin make him an important player for RCB if they have to counter the threat posed by Punjab's spinners like Rahul Chahar and Harpreet Brar. Green will be instrumental in seeing off these major threats and giving RCB a much-needed batting boost.
Punjab Kings:
Harpreet Brar's good match-up against both Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell could well end up deciding the fate of this match. The last few RCB versus PBKS encounters have always been about how RCB's batters handle Brar and this match-up has always determined who gets to control the rest of the game.
