Second-placed Delhi Capitals will be hosting third-placed Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Match No. 46 of IPL 2025. Currently, only NRR separates the two teams and the weekend might ultimately end in some movement near the top of the points table.

Both teams have the same number of wins, but RCB has played one game more. Both teams are coming off wins in their previous games. DC downed LSG in Lucknow. Mukesh Kumar's four-wicket haul broke LSG's middle order despite a strong opening partnership from Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh. Ayush Badoni tried to resurrect the innings, but it wasn't enough. Abishek Porel and KL Rahul got fifties and alongwith Axar Patel's cameo, DC got over the line in an easy chase.

RCB on the other hand, didn't have it as smooth sailing beating RR in Bengaluru. Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal got aggressive fifties and an important partnership that gave RCB early momentum. While, RCB's finishing wasn't as impactful, they still put up a respectable total in hopes of breaking their home ground jinx this year. RR and especially Yashasvi Jaiswal moved fully intent to chase the total down, and halfway into the chase it looked like they were going to win.

RCB's spinners Krunal Pandya and Suyash Sharma pulled the game back in the middle overs and brick-by-brick RCB were building up to a victory. That was until, with 40 runs needed off the last three overs, Dhruv Jurel and Shubham Dubey took 22 off a Bhuvneshwar over. But the day eventually belonged to Josh Hazlewood. Handed the ball with RR needing 18 runs off 12 balls, Hazlewood took two wickets and gave away just one run in the nineteenth over. By the end of the twentieth, RCB were heaving sighs of relief having won a tight game.

This fixture will also be a repeat one. In the last one, DC made it on the right side of the result. In Bengaluru, Phil Salt and Virat Kohli made an explosive start before the former was run out. In the middle overs, spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Vipraj Nigam took over and did not give RCB any breathing room. Ultimately, Tim David' last over explosiveness gave RCB a respectable total. RCB reduced DC to 30/3 and then 58/4, but local lad KL Rahul stepped up to the occasion showing that the ground was truly his.
