IPL 2025: GT vs DC Stats & Records at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad

First placed Delhi Capitals (DC) will take on second placed Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad for Match No. 35 of IPL 2025. So far, DC have lost just one of their six matches while GT have eight points after losing two matches out of six. 

GT slumped to their second loss of the season after falling to LSG in Lucknow. Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan gave a strong opening start, but the rest of the line-up slowed down considerably. Gill and Sudharsan fell in one over of each other and the team only added 58 runs in 41 balls from that point. 

Rishabh Pant walked out to open, but it didn't go as planned. Aiden Markram kept the chase afloat with a fifty and Nicholas Pooran took over. Pooran's blitz firmly put LSG in the driver's seat and Ayush Badoni closed out the chase in the last over. 

DC meanwhile, barely got over the line in a thriller against RR. DC's start was relatively slow, but Abishek Porel and KL Rahul's starts gave the perfect platform for Axar Patel and Tristan Stubbs' cameos to tee off. RR were looking on track to chase it down and Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson had a strong opening partnership. The latter retired hurt and that gave DC the perfect opening. Nitish Rana's quickfire fifty brought RR back into a game they were looking more and more out of. 

Towards the end, it took very good restrictive death overs bowling from Mitchell Starc to keep the match to a tie. In the super over, Starc came back and RR lost both their wickets to runouts after some dubious decision-making. DC were set 12 and KL Rahul got seven of those on the first three balls. Tristan Stubbs sent Sandeep Sharma's slower bouncer for six and DC were home.

Chasing has largely been the preferred option in Ahmedabad, so that might also be the captains' decision at toss.

KL Rahul is in very good form in IPL 2025, and Rashid not so much. But the head-to-head between these two is decidedly in the leggie's favour. 40 runs in 47 balls at a strike rate of 85.10 and three dismissals at an average of 13.33.

So far in the IPL, Buttler has put the left arm leg spinner away mostly comfortably. The former England skipper has made 74 runs in 49 balls at a strike rate of 151.02 and has been dismissed twice at an average of 37.
