IPL 2025: GT vs PBKS - Stats & Records at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad
The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will host the first match for GT and PBKS in IPL 2025.
Gujarat Titans (GT) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) will open their campaigns in Indian Premier League 2025 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday, March 25. Both teams had indifferent campaigns in 2024 finishing among the bottom three teams in the league.
Both teams were very active at the mega auction, making one big signing after another. PBKS bought Shreyas Iyer who had led KKR to the title in 2024. They also welcomed back former players Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis, alongside adding Yuzvendra Chahal - the highest wicket taker in the league's history. The Punjab franchise further brought in Ricky Ponting as their head coach ahead of the 2025 season, as they await a trophy after missing out during their Cinderella run in 2014.
The Titans from Gujarat, on the other hand, retained most of their Indian core from last year, and went on to make strong signings in the form of Jos Buttler, Kagiso Rabada, Gerald Coetzee, Glenn Phillips and Mohammed Siraj. The Shubman Gill-led side, which also includes the likes of Rashid Khan, will be looking to start their season with a win in a stadium that has mostly favoured them since their inception as a franchise in 2022.
