Franchise Gujarat Titans return to their home ground after successive wins in away games over RCB and SRH. Those wins took GT's current winning streak to three. Rajasthan Royals have also won their last two games but sit at the seventh spot in the IPL 2025 points table

GT made use of the services of local boy Mohammed Siraj to wreck SRH in their last game. The pattern was essentially the same as their win over RCB at Bengaluru. Siraj took two wickets in the powerplay on a slow surface. Prasidh Krishna and Sai Kishore provided the best support as Siraj completed his best-ever IPL figures. GT ran into trouble, losing two quick wickets, but Washington Sundar decidedly took the game away from SRH. Shubman Gill completed a fifty and Sherfane Rutherford played an explosive cameo to close out the chase early.

RR too won an away game heading into this one, beating PBKS at Mullanpur. Yashasvi Jaiswal's cautious fifty was backed up with starts from Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag, and RR got a strong total. For the second time in two matches, Jofra Archer made life difficult for the batters in the powerplay. PBKS never recovered from Archer's burst, despite Nehal Wadhera's heroics

More matches have been won here chasing than defending, and with GT's prowess in the second innings this season, that option would be preferable.
