IPL 2025: KKR vs LSG Stats & Records at Eden Gardens Stadium, Kolkata

Two teams separated by a hair's breadth in the middle of the points table will meet in Match 21 of IPL 2025 as KKR and LSG will lock horns at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata in a day game on Tuesday, April 8.

Both the teams have had identical trajectories as far as the results go. KKR are currently fifth and LSG sixth with only net run rate separating the two. Both the teams have followed an altnernating loss-win pattern so far and that is set to change. 

KKR beat SRH in their last game at this very ground. KKR's opener departed early, but Ajinkya Rahane and Angkrish Raghuvanshi put on a brilliant partnership beofre Venkatesh Iyer made perfect use of the stage set for him in death overs to take his team to 200/6. With the ball, Vaibhav Arora wrecked SRH in the powerplay and the visitors never made it back from there as KKR eventually condemned SRH to their biggest defeat by runs (80) in the IPL. 

LSG also had a similar result against MI in their own backyard. Mitchell Marsh popped off in the powerplay, but Hardik Pandya brought MI back in the middle overs. Aiden Markram, Ayush Badoni and David Miller made use of the platform set by Marsh and got LSG past 200 even as Pandya bagged first ever fifer by a captain in the IPL.

After early wickets dented MI, Suryakumar Yadav and Naman Dhir put up a partnership to keep the chase going. Once they were dismissed, MI, and particularly Tilak Varma, started to struggle and get behind the game. Varma was eventually contoversially retired out but there was just too much left to do even with Pandya's best efforts with the bat as the team fell 12 runs short of the target.

The Eden is not expected to be extremely flat or extremely slow either. There will definitely be something for everyone on this surface. 

Key Player Battles in KKR vs SRH, Match 15 of IPL 2025:

1. Rishabh Pant vs Varun Chakravarthy 

LSG's new skipper and the most expensive player in IPL history has been completely off with the bat in this competition. And his time against Chakravarthy does not paint a pleasant picture. Pant has managed just 31 runs in 30 balls against the mystery spinner at a strike rate of 103.33 and has been dismissed thrice for an average of 10.33.

2. Venkatesh Iyer vs Shardul Thakur 

In the IPL so far, the two have had a short but intense battle. In all, Iyer has scored 25 runs in just 12 balls at a strike rate of 208.33 against Thakur but has been dismissed twice at an average of 12.50.
