IPL 2025: KKR vs SRH, Match 15: Stats Review of player records and achieved milestones
Sunrisers Hyderabad suffer three consecutive defeats in the tournament
The 15th match of IPL 2025 witnessed a thrilling contest between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. SRH won the toss and opted to bowl first, hoping to exploit the pitch conditions.
Their decision seemed to pay off early, as KKR’s explosive openers faltered. In-form Quinton de Kock managed just 1 run off 6 balls, while the aggressive Sunil Narine fell for 7 runs off 7 balls. At 16/2 in 2.3 overs, KKR was in deep trouble.
Captain Ajinkya Rahane then steadied the innings, forming a crucial 81-run partnership with young Angkrish Raghuvanshi. Their resilience brought KKR back on track. Towards the end, Venkatesh Iyer played a sensational knock, smashing 60 runs off just 29 balls, propelling KKR to a formidable total of 200/6 in 20 overs on a challenging batting pitch.

In response, SRH struggled right from the start. Their top order crumbled in the powerplay, with Travis Head (4), Abhishek Sharma (2), and Ishan Kishan (2) failing to make an impact. KKR’s new-ball duo, Vaibhav Arora and Harshit Rana, bowled with discipline, not allowing SRH any breathing space.
At the halfway mark, SRH was reeling at 72/5. Wickets kept tumbling, and except for Heinrich Klaasen, who fought hard with a 33-run knock off 21 balls, no other batter could cross the 30-run mark. Eventually, SRH was bundled out, suffering a crushing 80-run defeat—their biggest loss margin in IPL history.
