IPL 2025: DC vs RCB, Match 46 - Stats preview of player records and approaching milestones
Both teams are going neck and neck in the points table.
2 Min Read

Delhi Capitals (DC) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are currently second and third on the points table respectively. While some previous clashes only provided mathematical opportunities for teams to go to the top of the points table, the winner of Match 46 will certainly go to the summit as the only team with 14 points (for what it's worth, that might change on Monday).
DC had a very easy time beating LSG in Lucknow in their last game. Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram put up a strong opening partnership, but Mukesh Kumar struck at regular intervals with a four-wicket haul. Ayush Badoni tried to save LSG's faltering middle order, but it wasn't enough. The modest chase of 158 was easily completed as Abishek Porel and KL Rahul made fifties, with a little support from Axar Patel.
RCB find themselves in this advantageous position after crossing the finish line in a tight win over RR in Bengaluru. Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal's fifties were instrumental in RCB getting a par total especially after a slow start. RR's chase got off to a flier with Yashasvi Jaiswal leading the charge and by the halfway point, RR were well poised to chase the total down. Krunal Pandya and Suyash Sharma then took over taking crucial wickets and keeping the run rate down. RCB seemed to have worked themselves back in the game, but a final twist awaited both sides.
Dhruv Jurel and Shubham Dubey hit Bhuvneshwar Kumar for 22 runs when RR needed 40 off the last three. Josh Hazlewood shaped up to bowl the 19th over, and did it with style. Hazlewood took two wickets and gave away just one run in that over and RCB were back. The last over just went for just five runs and RCB had registered their first home win in IPL 2025.
