Mumbai Indians' slide continued down a very slippery slope in IPL 2025 as RCB sent them to their fourth defeat of the season.

The visitors were put in and went after the bowling on a typical Wankhede belter. The first two balls of the match read 4, W but RCB didn't let that deter them. Virat Kohli (67 off 42) and Devdutt Padikkal (37 off 22) kept the momentum going in the powerplay. Rajat Patidar (64 off 32) got his role down perfectly and kept the charge going. Jitesh Sharma (40* off 19) eventually pushed RCB beyond the record chase mark. MI would have had to pull off their highest successful chase in IPL history.

Josh Hazlewood started with his usual miserliness in the powerplay and the rest of the lineup complemented the start. It looked like RCB had it in the bag very easily, but MI still had punches to pull. Suyash Sharma was relatively economical for this game, but Tilak Varma (56 off 29) and Hardik Pandya (42 off 15) put MI on the brink of victory. Krunal Pandya (4 for 45) took three wickets in the last over to make sure that RCB walked away with a win.
