Two teams riding in a familiar boat in the IPL 2025 will lock horns in Match 33 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Notably, Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad are placed seventh and ninth on the IPL Points Table.
Both teams have won just two of their six matches but won their most recent respective matches. MI triumphed over DC in a very tight encounter. Ryan Rickelton and Suryakumar Yadav gave starts that Tilak Varma and Naman Dhir capitalized on to take MI past the 200-run mark.
Deepak Chahar struck on the first ball of the chase, but DC's Impact Player, Karun Nair, was up to the task. Nair's blitzkrieg put DC on the course, and by the time he was dismissed, DC were well-positioned to take it home. MI's Impact Player, Karn Sharma, then stepped up to induce a middle-order collapse and derail the chase. DC's innings eventually ended with a hat-trick of run-outs and a 12-run defeat from a strong position.
SRH, on the other hand, snapped a four-match losing streak and brought out the SRH of old to blow PBKS apart. Shreyas Iyer's rapid fifty had support from cameos by other batters to take PBKS to a mammoth 245. SRH were right at home on a flat Hyderabad surface. Abhishek Sharma rode his luck to put up the highest individual score while chasing in the IPL and was supported by Travis Head's 66. Heinrich Klaasen and Ishan Kishan completed the formalities as SRH completed the second-highest successful chase in IPL history with an over and a half to spare.

Mumbai Indians (MI) vs Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) Strategies & Player Match-ups:
1. Pat Cummins vs Jasprit Bumrah

SRH's strong batting lineup, especially in the Impact Player era, means that Cummins may not really need to come out to bat. But his record as a batsman against India's Test vice-captain in the IPL would leave some of the best batters in the world envious. In 2020, Cummins hit Bumrah for four sixes in an over – the only time India's pace ace has been hit for as many sixes in an over in his T20 career. In all, Cummins has scored 52 runs in 31 balls against Bumrah in the IPL at a strike rate of 167.74 and has been dismissed just once. In fact, only three batters have hit more sixes against Jasprit Bumrah in the IPL than Cummins's five.
2. Rohit Sharma vs Pat Cummins

With the ball in hand, Australia's Test and ODI skipper enjoys a very favourable match-up against his Indian counterpart in the IPL. Rohit has been struggling for form in the tournament, and Cummins isn't necessarily doling out any favours if their previous record is anything to go by. Sharma has scored just 31 runs in 25 balls while being dismissed thrice – for an average of 10.33 and a strike rate of 124 – against Cummins.
