Royal Challengers Bengaluru slumped to their first loss of IPL 2025 as Gujarat Titans beat them at home. Both teams now have two wins and a loss from three matches.

GT won the toss and put the hosts in and struck immediately. Mohammed Siraj (3 for 19), like he has very often, led the charge with multiple strikes in the powerplay. RCB were soon down to 42/4, and it took a rebuild job by Liam Livingstone (54 off 40), Jitesh Sharma (33 off 21) and Tim David (32 off 18) to take RCB to 160 even with R Sai Kishore (2 for 22) and Prasidh Krishna (1 for 26) supplementing Siraj's charge.

GT got off to a slow start in the powerplay and even lost Shubman Gill cheaply, but Jos Buttler (73* off 39) and B Sai Sudharsan (49 off 36) led a collected partnership that slowly and surely took the game away from the hosts. Sherfane Rutherford to contributed to the fireworks and GT were home with more than two overs to spare.

Here are the most important stats from the game:

1 - Although he didn't do much today, Virat Kohli managed to usurp Ruturaj Gaikwad as the highet run scorer against Gujarat Titans in IPL history by just one run.

1 - Kohli also has the most runs against RR, DC and CSK in IPL making him the first player to be the highest run getter in IPL history against four different teams. David Warner is also the highest run-getter against two teams - KKR and PBKS.

1 - Mohammed Siraj played 21 matches for RCB in IPL at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, and it was his first game against them where he snagged his best bowling figures at the ground. Siraj's previous best bowling figures at the Chinnaswamy were 3/22 against LSG in 2023.

7 - Liam Livingstone became the 7th fastest player, by balls faced, to get to 1,000 runs in the IPL getting there in 628 balls.

5 - Among the 99 players with 1,000 or more IPL runs, Liam Livingstone has the fifth highest career batting strike rate.

2 - Mohammed Siraj became the second highest wicket taker in IPL matches at Bengaluru taking his tally to 29 in this match. The leader, Yuzvendra Chahal, has 52 wickets. Siraj also moved up to being the fourth highest wicket taker in all T20s at the ground.

2 - The five sixes that Liam Livingstone hit off Rashid Khan today are the second most that a batter has hit against the highest wicket-taker in T20 history in a single IPL game. Chris Gayle had torn him apart with 6 sixes at Mohali in 2018.

1 - Bhuvneshwar Kumar became the IPL's joint-most prolific pacer matching Dwayne Bravo's tally of 183 wickets. Kumar is joint-third highest on the overall list alsongside Bravo and R Ashwin. Only Piyush Chawla (192) and Yuzvendra Chahal (206) are ahead of the troika while Sunil Narine (181) is breathing down their neck.

3 - With a minimum of 500 runs, Jos Buttler became the third player to average over 50 and strike at over 150 against a single team in the IPL as he achieved the feat against RCB. Chris Gayle against Punjab Kings and AB de Villiers against Delhi Capitals are the other two.

1 - RCB registered their 44th loss at their home ground in Bengaluru. It is the joint highest number of losses by a team at a single ground in the IPL alongside Delhi Capitals who have also suffered from this "home disadvantage" so to speak with 44 losses at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
