RR are virtually out of contention for a playoffs spot.

Rajasthan Royals have practically been eliminated from contention for a playoffs spot in IPL 2025. Now, they host first-placed Gujarat Titans at a time when their team is completely down in the dumps.
RR have lost both games they have played at their home ground in Jaipur and will walk into this game having lost five in a row. Their last game was a tight loss to RCB in Bengaluru. Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal made quick fifties to lift RCB from a slow start through the middle overs. RCB's finishers chipped in to take the home side past the 200-run mark.
Yashasvi Jaiswal started with aggression in the powerplay and set his team on the victory path. However, RCB's spinners Krunal Pandya and Suyash Sharma took regular wickets and kept the run-flow in check. RCB had found a way back, but Dhruv Jurel and Shubham Dubey kept fighting. With 40 runs needed in three overs, the pair took 22 runs off Bhuvneshwar Kumar's final over to nearly seal the game. Howeverm Josh Hazlewood was handed the ball in the 19th over with 18 runs required. The Australian pacer delivered a Player of the Match performance as he took two wickets and gave away just one run in the over. One over later, RCB went over the finish line.
Meanwhile, the Gujarat Titans continued their dominant run in the tournament with a comprehensive win over Kolkata Knight Riders in Kolkata in their last game. Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan continued their consistent run with fifties while Jos Buttler also put in a strong finish to give GT a strong total. KKR's batting was, in one word, underwhelming. Ajinkya Rahane got a fifty but nobody else pushed towards the chase of 198. Angkrish Raghuvanshi put in some fight but that could only reduce the loss margin.
RR will have all the more reason to win this since their loss in the reverse fixture is what started their current run of five consecutive losses. In that meeting, Sai Sudharsan's 82 was prefectly supported by the middle-order who led GT to a strong total. Prasisdh Krishna then led GT's charge with the ball, as no RR batter could do much.
