Sixth-placed Mumbai Indians (MI) will take on ninth-placed Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Match No. 41 of Indian Premier League 2025. This will be the second fixture between the two teams in the league stage of the tournament.

MI have won three matches in a row to revive what looked like another lost season. The last of these wins came against the bottom-placed Chennai Super Kings. 17-year old Ayush Mhatre's blazing start was validated by fifties from Ravindra Jadeja and Shivam Dube. Jasprit Bumrah, especially at the death, and Will Jacks contributed to the slowdown with the ball to restrict CSK to what was increasingly looking like an inadequate total. MI's batters too batted that way.

Rohit Sharma was at his intentful best in the powerplay, and Suryakumar Yadav took over later despite Ryan Rickelton starting slow. Both of them toyed with the CSK bowling and raced away to unbeaten fifties that gave MI an imposing nine-wicket win.

SRH's last game was the reverse fixture. Will Jacks and Bumrah kept SRH's fearsome batting quiet and kept them to an underwheling total. Jacks stepped up with the bat as well. Jacks' start was complemented by starts from Rohit Sharma, Ryan Rickelton and Suryakumar Yadav. Hardik Pandya's cameo brought about a swift end to proceedings, but not before some drama with the last run. MI needed 1 run in 17 balls with six wickets in hand when Hardik was dismissed. It wasn't until five balls and a wicket later that MI finally got home.
