IPL 2025: SRH vs RR, Match 2 - Stats Preview of Players' Records and Approaching Milestones

Franchises Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) will begin their IPL 2025 campaigns by facing each other in the second match of the season. Both teams made it to the last four in IPL 2024 but fell short near the final hurdle—SRH finished as runners-up, while RR secured third place after losing Qualifier 2 to SRH.

Both teams have retained the core of their batting line-ups that brought them success last season. However, as a result of the mega auction, they have completely overhauled their bowling attacks. Both teams will continue with the same captains as last season. SRH have strengthened their already formidable batting line-up with the addition of Ishan Kishan, while RR have brought back Jofra Archer, who originally made his mark in world cricket with this franchise.

Notably, RR will be without their regular skipper, Sanju Samson, who is nursing a finger injury. He will play solely as a batter for the first three matches. In his absence, Riyan Parag has been appointed as captain. Parag brings leadership experience from Assam’s domestic cricket setup and has shown commendable form with the bat.

SRH skipper Pat Cummins, who missed the Champions Trophy due to injury, will lead a revamped bowling attack featuring Mohammed Shami, Harshal Patel, Rahul Chahar, Adam Zampa, and others.
