KKR is set to play their fourth consecutive home match.
Franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) currently hold the second position on the IPL 202 points table, while Delhi Capitals (DC) are placed fifth. The only factor that sets these two teams apart is their net run rate. KKR has secured five victories out of nine matches, whereas DC has also won five matches, but in ten attempts. In their upcoming encounter, these two teams will face each other for the second time in IPL 2024, this time in Kolkata. This match will mark KKR's fourth consecutive home game.

KKR's recent matches have been quite thrilling for the viewers. They experienced a roller-coaster ride in their last three games. Against RR, KKR witnessed the joint-highest successful chase in IPL history. In their match against RCB, they managed to secure a victory by a mere one run after setting a target of 222. However, the most astonishing match was against Punjab Kings (PBKS), where KKR conceded the highest successful chase in all T20s. Jonny Bairstow and Shashank Singh led Punjab to victory. Although Phil Salt and Sunil Narine showed promise in KKR's batting, their bowling, except for Narine, was disappointing.

On the other hand, Delhi Capitals achieved a hard-fought victory against MI in their most recent IPL 2024 match. It was not an easy win for them. After an impressive performance by Jake Fraser-McGurk padded by cameos from Shai Hope and Tristan Stubbs, DC managed to set a target of 257. Although MI's Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya, and Tim David tried to shift the momentum in their favour, DC maintained their composure, mainly due to Rasikh Salam's bowling. And DC walked away heaving a sigh of relief winning by just 10 runs.
In the previous encounter between KKR and DC at Visakhapatnam, KKR subjected DC to a challenging ordeal by amassing a massive total of 272 runs and successfully defended it with a significant margin of 106 runs.
