KL Rahul has established himself as one of the finest batters in Indian cricket, excelling in both domestic and international cricket. A consistent performer and a reliable anchor, Rahul has been the backbone of every team he plays for. His exceptional talent and composure make him one of India's most valuable players.
Rahul made his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut on April 11, 2013, against Kolkata Knight Riders in Bengaluru. Since then, he has continued to shine in the tournament, amassing 4683 runs with remarkable consistency. He has four centuries in IPL history—three against Mumbai Indians and one against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. With an impressive IPL average of 45.46, he remains one of the most reliable batters in the league. His standout season came in 2020 when he won the Orange Cap after scoring 670 runs.
Rahul's dominance in domestic cricket earned him a well-deserved call-up to the Indian national team, making his Test debut on December 26, 2014, against Australia in Melbourne. He announced his arrival on the big stage with a Test century in his very first tour of Australia, scoring 110 runs off 262 balls. From that moment, he never looked back, going on to register eight Test centuries, seven ODI centuries, and two T20I centuries.
His ability to maintain consistency at the highest level sets him apart. Rahul plays a crucial role in anchoring the innings, allowing other batters to play their natural attacking game. His contributions to ICC events have been instrumental in India's success.
One of his most remarkable performances came in the Champions Trophy 2025, where he played a pivotal role in helping India lift the trophy.
