The IPL 2024 caravan moves back to Chennai as the defending champions get set to play their fifth game of the season. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) take on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Monday night in a key game for the home team.
Kolkata Knight Riders meanwhile are flying high with three successive wins to open their campaign. Shreyas Iyer’s team began their season with a win against Sunrisers Hyderabad at home. This was followed by wins against RCB and Delhi Capitals away from home.
As the trip to the famed Chepauk stadium beckons, KKR will be wary of the threat. This is their third game away from home and their record at this venue hasn’t been that great. At this point in time KKR are occupying the second place in the table behind Rajasthan Royals.

The Chennai Super Kings versus Kolkata Knight Riders’ rivalry has seen some close and memorable encounters at Chepauk. The two-time IPL winners have played at this venue ten times and have gone back with a positive result thrice.
One of the biggest wins for KKR came during the final of IPL 2012 where they beat CSK. MS Bisla and Jacques Kallis played well as Manoj Tiwary slammed the winning boundary. This was the first-ever IPL title for the KKR side and it came under the captaincy of Gautam Gambhir.
