Australia haven’t played a T20I since the end of February, when they whitewashed New Zealand away from home 3-0 in a three match series. But for the most part it looked like the job had been done for Namibia until Mehran Khan came in with a stunning spell in the death overs, taking three wickets in just two overs. Mehran was tasked with defending just 5 runs from the last over, but took two wickets in the first three balls of the over to force a tie.

The match went into the first Super Over in a T20 World Cup since 2012. David Wiese and captain Gerhard Erasmus unleashed a flurry of boundaries in the Super Over against Bilal Khan as Namibia posted 21 runs. Wiese came back to successfully defend the target as Namibia eventually got home in a clash that needn’t have been that close anyway.
